Gospel festival set for Saturday
Back to School Gospel Music Festival 2010, sponsored by Rue & Ziffra, is scheduled Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. The free concert will be held at Butts Miracle Temple Church of God In Christ, 636 Hawk St., Daytona Beach. Special guests will be Tim Bishop Brown & Miracle Mass Choir of Los Angles, writer of Beverly Crawford’s “He’s Done Enough”; the Gospel Keys of Daytona Beach; Voices of Life of Orlando; Sister Kim & Sons of Palatka; Sons of Solomon of Daytona Beach; and the Butts Family Singers. Library to offer Wii for adults
The Volusia County Library Center - City Island will begin a free Nintendo Wii sports program for adults from 3 to 5 p.m. the second Thursday of every month starting Sept. 9. Beginner and experienced Wii players are invited to join.  Call 386-257-6036.

Port Orange will host Family Days

See Elmo, friends at Ocean Center
The Ocean Center will host a Sesame Street show, “1-2-3 Imagine! with Elmo & Friends” on Oct. 12 and 13. Craft show, bazaar coming to DeLand
The 12th Annual Rivertown Craft Show and Bazaar will feature more than 100 crafters in downtown DeLand this month. The event will include live music, hands-on demonstrations, a kids’ play area and food from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 25, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 26. Program focuses on bed bugs
Learn how to find, identify and control bed bugs during a free program at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the Volusia County Agricultural Center, 3100 E. New York Ave., DeLand. The program will feature presentations by extension agents, a canine demonstration and a discussion about elimination of bed bugs. Speedway Park action returns Saturday
The Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville returns to action this Saturday night, Sept. 4, with the Daytona Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Labor Day Late Model Shootout. The park will open for practice on Sept. 3 with laps by division from 6 to 9 p.m. The park opens Saturday at 5:30 p.m. with races starting at 7:30. More information: www.VolusiaSpeedwayPark.net.
